Belief in yourself
Belief in yourself is easy to lose,
Many people lose it under the couch cushions,
Or in the bottom of their junk drawers.
Some people keep it in their pockets,
Which is much better,
But really the best place to store belief is inside yourself,
In a quiet garden in the center of your soul,
Under a spreading tree,
Beside a murmuring spring.
Because belief can grow there like a seed,
And then, one day, when you are tired and hungry,
You can go there and be surprised by its branching fragarance and abundant fruit.
The thing you have to fight is fear of growth.
